about the artist
Elisa Post was born and still lives in the metro-Detroit area. In 2011, she graduated with highest honors from Madonna University with a BA in Graphic Design and a minor in fine art. She has been interested in art her whole life, and was first enrolled in an art class at age six. Since then, she has taken numerous art classes including portrait and landscape classes.
Her first published painting was in the members only issue of Clubhouse Magazine when she was nine years old. Since then, she has won dozens of art contests both locally and nationally, including a silver key in the National Scholastic Art and Writing contest for a colored pencil piece.
She has worked as a freelance oil painter for Classic Portrait Source since she was sixteen, and has also been doing photo-retouching for the studio since summer of 2010. She has taught group and private art lessons to homeschool children ranging from seven to seventeen years old and taught art lessons at Wixom Christian from fall of 2012 to spring of 2016. Elisa also has used her artistic talent for various other projects, including being a live artist for the Aston Martin unveiling of the DBS in 2008, painting sets for her church's Vacation Bible School, and helping paint the set for OHMI's production of Beauty and the Beast in 2013. A number of people have commissioned her to do artwork for them, including portraits, landscapes, animals, and still lifes.
From spring of 2010 to fall of 2011 Elisa did graphic design for Camp CoBeAc, including a devotional cover, a poster, and working as the graphic designer for the camp’s newspaper. She worked as a graphic designer at Big Frog Custom T-Shirts and More from summer of 2013 to spring of 2014. Currently, Elisa is working as a graphic designer in the web department at The Clothing Cove and doing various freelance graphic design projects.
In her spare time, she is actively involved in church and Bible studies. Other hobbies include, photography, tennis, styling hair, and spending time with her friends and family.
